Debbie Does 'em All (1984)

the whole soundtrack is filled with short bursts of funk, 13 to be exact. well at least that's the amount of ones that were good enough for an mp3. here's the great opening theme. the original vocals are backed with an unknown library cut. there's another vocal disco tune in the middle of the film that straight up sounds like a commercial release, but it can't be. anyway, i was thinking this backing library track is either from '83 or '84 cause of its Madonna similarities. the instrumental version plays later in the film, but there's far too much "dialogue" over top of it. i was able to cut together the main parts from various points in the scene though, and it's great.

Coloursound - Colours (1984)

this was a blind buy back in the day. i just saw PRiTV and had to snag it. turned into one of my favourite library records along the way. the polish guys at their best, as always. it's number 45 from the Coloursound label entitled "Colours". funk and disco as i'm sure you all know, since you probably have it already. i saw that there was a rip going around, but i never found a link for it to know what the quality was like. so i was ripping this for myself anyway, and figured i'd throw this classic up for anyone who wanted some high quality rips. there's large pics in the zip if nothing else. the Piotr Kaluzny songs on here kill, but my favourite tune has to be Yellow Funk. Porn_Library actually first turned me onto this track, since it was on one of his comps, though he gave it a different name so i didn't know at the time. this cover art is pretty great too.

Minako Tanaka - 君の瞳に優しく (1990)

a japanese only release for today, got it for one yen on japanese amazon. rare and impossible to find over here, but i guess it's really common over there. she released a ton of records, this being the first in her discography. i had also forgotten how i had found out about this, until i put it on. i mean i read somewhere that it sounded like Stock Aitken Waterman and i was able to preview one great song, so that's why i bought it. but when i put it on, i was like, "hey! that's a Michael Jay track!" then i had remembered that i had seen that he was credited for one tune on the CD and that's how i found out about it. though there is another one of his songs that goes un-credited on here. one of his two songs, 真紅の共犯者, is actually a cover version of a tune that he gave to Alisha called Love Will Talk. anyway the whole CD is great, i was pleasantly surprised. and yeah, the case got smashed. stays together quite nicely when it's closed though.

Selected Sound - Metropolitan Sounds (1984)

i really do love the Selected Sound ST series, as you can see since it's half of the stuff i upload, haha. well here comes number 161 titled "Metropolitan Sounds". not a killer record, but just a good solid one. i didn't know what the hell to expect when i got this, but it turned out to be laid back light funk and disco type stuff. my favourites are Latin Flutes and Cats & Chickens. though there's lots of good stuff here, not a single track i'd skip personally. this comes from pretty much the very end of my interest in library in 1984.

Luv' - For You (1989)

i had always come across their records before, but was never impressed by any of them. then i was going through a bunch of japanese singles and came across a really great tune. so i went out to find if there was CD to go with it, well there kinda is. it's really a mini CD with only 6 tracks, but it is 30 minutes long. as a result though, every track is dynamite. with one exception being the medley at the end, which is just a medley of their older songs i never liked before. the first 15 seconds is new material though and fantastic, wish they wrote a whole song to go with the quick hook. the whole thing is a pure Stock Aitken Waterman sound-a-like. Nigel Wright really knew how to recreate that sound, so it's no wonder they got him to do the whole thing. as soon as i heard the track Naughty Boy i knew it had to be written by Farina Crivellente Fadinger, and sure enough it was. those guys really milked the hook in Love in the First Degree by Bananarama, making countless clones of it. not that this is a dis or anything, i love all of it. only released in the Netherlands, so it's a little obscure and harder to find.

kpm - International Business (1981)

i'm finally back up and running again. i couldn't rip anything for a while since my laptop had some grounding problems, there was interference on anything i ripped. well i finally got that problem fixed yesterday and i had to immediately rip this one. i've been dying to listen to this on the go, since it's one of my favourite library records out there. the only rip going around on the internet that i could find was a crappy mono rip. so here it is in all its stereo glory, the incredible orchestral disco of kpm's number 1254 "International Business", with Graham de Wilde supplying the insane sounds. the main international themes on here are all killer disco, not a bad one in the bunch. i can't even pick a favoruite since they're all golden. i've even added the quick descriptions to the track names so you know which ones are the main themes, and which are the shorter jingle ones. viscous gems all over this thing, i'm looking at you Troubleshooters. i can't believe no one ever mentions this record, but then again, maybe i'm just crazy with my love for this haha. large pics in the zip!
