kpm - International Business 2 (1981)

      despite releasing the same year as the first volume, most of this one feels much more 80s, including the packaging and their updated logo. can't say i've listened to much kpm that wasn't a green cover. the a-side starts a little more gloomy, with a bit of breezy in there. flip it over and we start getting some great stuff. 'Transport International (b)' is awesome, fits on the first volume better. the other standout is the funky stomping track 'Transport International (e)'. first heard this track in some mid-80s garbage video porno. certainly not as good as the first volume, but a worthy entry in the kpm library.

Selected Sound - Follow Me (1977)

      well i remember buying this one for a specific song, the best version of 'Stern Von Afrika'. don't recall the rest of the record being that great, and i must say the a-side was still a disappointment haha. the flip side is a little better, 'Island Of My Dreams' is quite good, and 'Holiday Hopp' is okay. overall just not my type of sound. definitely not something i need to own anymore.

Sonoton - Disco (1980)

     always forget about Quango & Sparky, can't really say i've listened to that many Sonotons really. i do like Narholz and Fiddy a lot though. this is great, just a bunch of disco as the title suggests. favourite track is definitely 'Never Say Forever', which brings back memories of Seka for Christmas. 'Gogo West' and 'San Fran Jubilee' are really good too. a couple clunkers, the rock ones, but overall it's a winner.

Selected Sound - Match-Ball (1981)

     might be my favourite library record, this thing is amazing. the polish library stuff is always my favourite. Zbigniew Gorny and his orchestra really killed it. it's hard to imagine a more perfect song then 'Magma'. that minute long buildup intro, then dropping the funkiest damn thing i've ever heard. not far behind is the title track, then 'Oversea Flights', 'Newport' and 'Net Service'. all of them funky disco dreams. i bought this thing in 2014 for 6 euros, what bang for your buck, and it still looks to be as affordable as then. bury me with this record.

Bruton Music - Disco Happening (1978)

     after shovelling snow all day in this terrible weather, it's time to relax with a record. looked at the shelf and thought oh yeah this is a great one, gotta play this. always liked stuff from the Bruton library, and this one was solid enough throughout for me to buy. a lot of library records feel disjointed with differing styles, but this one flows very nicely. a classic porno record, always hearing stuff from this. funky disco all over. it's hard to pick a favourite, 'Disco Partners', 'Disco Stepping', 'Itchy Funk' and 'Soul Stomp' are all so good!

Music for Dancefloors: The KPM Music Library (2013)

     just pulling some records off the shelf. first it's a 2-LP compilation of kpm, Themes and others. i got this for christmas at the time mostly for 'Funky Express' as i couldn't afford the original kpm record. i think it's a good collection of tracks but half of it isn't really my taste. starts off strong with three great tracks. 'That's What Friends Are For (vocal version)', then possibly my favourite in 'Unlimited Love', and then 'Funky Express'. i wish there there were a couple other disco tracks on here but it's really just the one.

      the real clunkers on here for me are the latin and reggae tracks. and outside of 'Crash Course' the whole d-side is a pass for me. 

     i completely forgot that this thing comes with CDs too. the one disc is live versions from a jazz club. while it was fun to listen to once i doubt i'd ever listen to those again.

Scuba in the Buff (1991)

     christmas time again! been on the hunt for Scuba in the Buff ever since i saw a preview for it at the beginning of another similar style tape. finally got the tape not too long ago and it did not disappoint! i was surprised to hear a bunch of library music, but i guess i shouldn't have been. i chopped up the tracks and threw them up on youtube to see if they recognized em, and they did.

     late 80s library is not my forte, so i'd never heard these tunes before. the soundtrack all comes from the De Wolfe library. three different records, '86, '87, and '88 releases. upbeat in-your-face, and laid back tunes. had to upload the video to get it out there too. tasteful nudity included of course so click at your own risk. happy holidays, enjoy!

Peer International - Rock Allegro (1976)

     figured i'd throw this up if anyone was interested in it, Peer International's 9036 "Rock Allegro" from 1976. i hope to sell this so i ripped it in preparation. i bought this years ago after finding out "Solid Funk" was on it. was hoping there would be other ID stuff on it, but that didn't turn out to be the case. i needed that track in high quality for a project anyway, so it wasn't entirely a loss. there's some decent stuff on here besides the obvious standout, but most of it is just standard rock stuff, not much my flavour. "Solid Funk" though, what a tune!

Selected Sound - Season Opening (1978)

     always love the Selected Sound library, as my past posts clearly show. this one comes from 1978, ST series number 113 titled "Season Opening". pretty solid record throughout, with the key standouts being Everblue and Hey My Boy. though Berry Lipman delivers the goods all over the place. of course you've got the theme to Sex World from the same year on here as well. enjoy the large pics too! i ripped this a while ago but for some reason i never shared it on the site, better late than never.

     with the recent aerobics discussion i'd been having, thought i'd throw up this old comp i made. it started out as a soundtrack to Eroticise, but as i was doing that the video got taken down before i had a chance to save it, and i never found another copy since. so then i just scrapped all the Network tracks and just made up my own listing. boogie-pop and funky-disco from around like '79 to '85. i've stripped the real names and composers, cause it's funnier that way. and of course i had to manipulate my own artwork as always. 30 minute workout!

Selected Sound - Romantic Moods (1980)

     another Selected Sound release for today, number 124 "Romantic Moods". i must admit that i bought this cause of the Lucky Simon pseudonym and the Gorny name alone, without really looking at what kind of tracks they actually were. was hoping the Gorny track would be upbeat, but it's not. some good laid bad grooves on here, can't say i'm crazy about the record though personally. i'm sure there's others out there that would appreciate this much more than me. though i do really like the two tracks Melancholy and Along The Coast. i remembered seeing this on Porn_Library's want list on the old library board (which kind of led me to want to buy this as well, haha). large pics in the zip as always.

Coloursound - Colours (1984)

     this was a blind buy back in the day. i just saw PRiTV and had to snag it. turned into one of my favourite library records along the way. the polish guys at their best, as always. it's number 45 from the Coloursound label entitled "Colours". funk and disco as i'm sure you all know, since you probably have it already. i saw that there was a rip going around, but i never found a link for it to know what the quality was like. so i was ripping this for myself anyway, and figured i'd throw this classic up for anyone who wanted some high quality rips. there's large pics in the zip if nothing else. the Piotr Kaluzny songs on here kill, but my favourite tune has to be Yellow Funk. Porn_Library actually first turned me onto this track, since it was on one of his comps, though he gave it a different name so i didn't know at the time. this cover art is pretty great too.

Selected Sound - Metropolitan Sounds (1984)

        i really do love the Selected Sound ST series, as you can see since it's half of the stuff i upload, haha. well here comes number 161 titled "Metropolitan Sounds". not a killer record, but just a good solid one. i didn't know what the hell to expect when i got this, but it turned out to be laid back light funk and disco type stuff. my favourites are Latin Flutes and Cats & Chickens. though there's lots of good stuff here, not a single track i'd skip personally. this comes from pretty much the very end of my interest in library in 1984.

kpm - International Business (1981)

     i'm finally back up and running again. i couldn't rip anything for a while since my laptop had some grounding problems, there was interference on anything i ripped. well i finally got that problem fixed yesterday and i had to immediately rip this one. i've been dying to listen to this on the go, since it's one of my favourite library records out there. the only rip going around on the internet that i could find was a crappy mono rip. so here it is in all its stereo glory, the incredible orchestral disco of kpm's number 1254 "International Business", with Graham de Wilde supplying the insane sounds. the main international themes on here are all killer disco, not a bad one in the bunch. i can't even pick a favoruite since they're all golden. i've even added the quick descriptions to the track names so you know which ones are the main themes, and which are the shorter jingle ones. viscous gems all over this thing, i'm looking at you Troubleshooters. i can't believe no one ever mentions this record, but then again, maybe i'm just crazy with my love for this haha. large pics in the zip!

Selected Sound - Music Racers (1976)

     obviously Selected Sound is my favourite library, since i've posted four of them now, haha. specifically the ST series (which sadly i don't see uploads for a lot). definitely own more SS than any other label. i wasn't doing anything tonight, so i thought i'd rip another record. this time just a bit earlier in the SS library. it's Selected Sound's "Music Racers", released in 1976. my main reason for buying this was for Nights Of Cologne, as heard in Wicked Sensations (1980)! the rest was pretty much going in blind, and Lipman doesn't disappoint. the track Peppino appears on a later record does it not? sure sounds familiar. the one that's killing me though is the really great track Concerto For Young Lovers, since i know for sure i've heard it in something, but can't remember what (*update: i found out that the track plays in Star Maidens*). i bought this one a while ago, around christmas time, though it stayed at my parents place for two months. finally got my hands on it last weekend. then from my hands, to the net haha. enjoy!

Selected Sound - Boogie Rock Explosion (1977)

     this one's kind of an odd one for me. it's not typically the music i'd really listen to. it was just a cheap throw in with some other stuff i got at the time. i tried looking around and hadn't seen it uploaded anywhere, so i figured i might as well rip it since there's probably someone here who would like it more than me. anyway, it's Selected Sound's "Boogie Rock Explosion", released in 1977. yeah it's just really uptempo boogie rock and roll the whole time. the type of music makes me instantly think of old PC mini golf games from the '90s, since all the ones i had played music like this. so yeah i've got nothing else to say, haha.
